Cause & Effect

Throughout history we see this flow of things happening that is a cause & effect.  Something happens that causes an effect to happen.  This effect causes something else to happen.  Anytime in history we can go to a situation and look back and see the things that caused the situation to happen.  But we can also look past that situation and see the effect of it on history after that.  In a since the situation has now become a cause for the next thing in history.    Let's take the situation of Jesus' death on the cross as an example.  In the beginning, Adam sinned.   This required a savior to come and die in the place of Adam and all human kind.  God told Moses that Jews were to offer a lamb as a sacrifice for their sins.  This was a picture of the ultimate sacrifice to come which was Jesus Christ.  Through the old testament prophets God spoke of Jesus coming to die as a sacrifice for all human kind.  Those are some of the causes that led to His death.  After His death & resurrection some of the effects are: we have the christian church, salvation, the ability to be free from sin, our relationship with God is restored.  These are effects of Jesus' death on the cross that effect your life today.  Because Jesus died on the cross (cause), you can be saved today! (Effect)  The future effect is that you can have life with God, going forward and the hope of going to heaven when you die  (effect of being saved today).

Share something that was a cause and effect in your own life or something you have seen in history that had a cause and effect.  Please write about it in the comment section below and after reading other comments you can comment on what they wrote.  Click on the comment hyperlink below.

Welcome

Hello MS Students,

This is the blog we are going to use for history class this year.  The history blog will be assigned in renweb.  Go to mrsmaclarensancienthistoryiii.pbworks.com to click on the link that will take you to this blog.

Below is a short video that will explain a bit about blogs and how they are used today.  I hope that this helps you understand how and why we are going to use this as a discussion board for sharing ideas about history this year.

Underneath this blog you will see the word comments.  It is a hyperlink - click on it and a comment box will pop up.  You will be able to comment on this blog.  At the end there will be a gibberish word that comes up and you will need to put that in a box.  This is to keep computers from adding goofy comments to blogs all over the place.  Let's have some fun with this as we go through the year.  You can comment on what I write or on what a friend says in the comment section.
